People's republic of China is a country in the Asian continent. The capital city is Beijing while the most populated city is Shanghai. It's national day is October 1.
It has the largest population in the world with over 1.3 billion people as at July 2012.
The Chinese currency is Yuan also known as Renminbi. The president of China is Xi Jinping.

1. In 2003, China became the third country to successfully send a person to space.
2. The great wall of China is the largest man-made structure in the world. It stretches over an incredible 8, 850 kilometres.
3. The famous giant panda which is the national animal of China, is found near Yangtze river in China. The giant panda lives in the misty mountains of Central China. They can usually be found in thick bamboo forests. Giant Pandas are good swimmers.
4. China hosted the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing.
5. The forbidden city, a palace complex in Beijing contains about 9 000 rooms.
6. Put together, all of China's railway lines could loop around the earth twice.
