TWISTED 🌀 Chapter 3

Twisted 🌀 Chapter 3

"I am Braden Willian. We met at the interview at Keith Jones theatre. I know that it's up to the company's representatives to call you if you have qualified for their auditions. However I would love to see you personally. I have an offer for you. It could help achieve your dreams if you're ready to utilize you. So, if you're interested, come over to the address printed on the card. Let's have a formal discussion".

"Hello. Good morning. Are you Miss Audrey?"
"Yes I am, good morning. I was given an appointment by Mr Braden. He asked me to come in today".
"That's right. Wait a minute. I will inform him that you're here."
The whole environment was breathtaking. This was an executive office on the 15th floor of the Dream tower. It was a beautiful sight, the furnitures, the designs on the walls. There were five offices that were visible from where I sat. There was an open office as the reception. A blonde woman came out of the third office.
She looked straight at  me and told me to follow her. We entered another office to the left.

It was fairly large. There was a big table with a desktop on it, and a swivel chair, looked very comfy. She made a brief call, I barely heard what she said. She led me out again through a fairly lit corridor then we stopped at the very last door. It was a large black door with the caption 'Chairman' written on it. Like do people still do that.

The door was nice though, sign of style and affluence. The lady knocked lightly on the door. I didn't even know her name yet but she looked well-off. Guess her job paid well.
"Come in".
She opened the door and ushered me in.
And just when I thought I  had seen it all, okay maybe I had expected this and I wasn't disappointed.
I sucked in my breath. I was speechless.
It was  just so hard to decide which one actually took my breath, his beautiful interior decor. or finally seeing him in person. I stood there sort of rooted to the floor.

"Please sit. It's nice to meet you in person,  again."
After a quick debate on what to say that wouldn't make me look stupid,  I decided to remain quiet and let him do all the talking.

"Well I'm glad you could make it here today. I'm sure you're still confused as to why I invited you or called you at all. I would explain it to you soon. First let's have little introductions done."
Now, hold it right there. This popular handsome actor didn't just say he invited me here for a chitchat, or did he?
The blonde lady, who I was beginning to guess must be his personal secretary left to brew coffee. Believe me, I was nervous but not half as nervous as I was curious. Was he actually waiting for me before taking his morning coffee? What was I thinking? Rich people must love to drink coffee as they talk about business.  Either way works for me because there I was battling extreme anxiety with an empty stomach. No thanks to Madison and her early morning dress up and make up tutorials.
She was going to overdress me, I could only imagine what I would look like.

"How would you like your coffee Miss Audrey?”
"White please"
I finally managed a reply.
"So, Miss Audrey, from the profile you submitted at Keith Jones, I gathered that you're 17 years old and you're preparing for college."
"That's right sir."
Where was he going with all this talk?
Not even a cup of coffee would get words out of my mouth when he was clearly invading my privacy.
"Here's your coffee".
I said a simple thank you, with a smile to the secretary lady and inside, I was screaming with gratitude. What I need now is the right timing to start drinking.
"So at some time between this year and next year, you should be in college?”
He took a sip from his coffee.
If he didn't make his point clear this conversation will be all 'yes and no(s).
" Yes sir".
The blonde lady excused us.

"What course do you want to study?”
" Drama and theatre arts'
"Oh that's lovely, and which college do you have in mind?”
"Well, " Wilston Foster College is the only college I have in mind".
He stroked his chin like through some magic, money would fall out of it.
"Wilston Foster is one of the best around here, the certificate is original, should get you very good opportunities in less than a month. So you're working at Webstix to save up for college."

Was I that obvious to him. I had barely spoken to him.

"Yes sir".
"It's very thoughtful of you to relieve your parents of that burden".
The android phone on the table was vibrating.

I actually thought  people used intercom in offices, well it wasn't a regular office. The important thing was that was an opening to drink coffee.

" Let's get back to business Miss Audrey. I wouldn't say you are an actress because I haven't seen you perform. You didn't sound very convincing at the interview either but I'm willing to give you a chance here. Here I have the terms clearly spelt out. Get back to me within a week. I would have loved that we chat for a little more time but I have some business to attend to. If you have questions, call me, my  personal number is in there. I should see you soon."
"It's fine sir. I'm grateful for your re-consideration and I promise not to disappoint you."

Or do I? I can't make such promises but it's the formal thing to do.
