Brazil is the largest country in South America.
Brazil is the only country in South America that speaks Portuguese. It's the fifth largest country in the world by land area and population.
The Amazon river flows through Brazil. Also around 60% of the Amazon rainforest is located in Brazil.

Another promiment place in Brazil is Rio de Janeiro. It became a world heritage site in 2012. It's annual carnival attracts around 2 million revellers each day. Rio de Janeiro is also well known for the Christ the Redeemer statue on Corvocado mountain.

Brazil has quite a number of foreign population.
It has the largest number of Japanese people outside Japan. Interestingly, it also has the world's second largest black population after Nigeria.

The wildlife in Brazil is vast. Brazil has more species of monkey than any other nation.

Typical Brazilian food
One of the few dishes eaten the length and breadth of Brazil is Feijoada. It is a black bean stew served with white rice, collard greens, fried bananas. Salty dried meat and pork sausage are usual additions but some Feijoada include pork trimmings or smoked ribs.
